Mario Carneiro: Cinema is Printmaking with Light

Mario Carneiro - Gravura Feita de Luz

Visual artist, filmmaker, and one of the leading cinematographers of the "New Cinema" movement, Mário Carneiro is at the heart of this portrait. The editing juxtaposes sequences from films he directed or shot with his work as an Expressionist painter and printmaker, revealing the dialogue between cinema and the visual arts in his work. With humor, he guides the audience through the path of his artistic development, sharing his creative process and the aesthetic choices that defined his career.
