Kashpirovsky. Under the Spell

Kaszpirowski

Also known as Kashpirovskiy. Under the Spell

The film tells the remarkable story of Dr Anatoly Kashpirovsky, who, at the height of his career, claimed to anaesthetise three women remotely for major surgery through the sheer force of his persuasion. His televised healing séances, broadcast across the Soviet bloc, broke viewing records, reaching hundreds of millions of people. Loved by his followers and despised by his enemies, Kashpirovsky became an unlikely symbol of a world undergoing radical political transformation.
