Vicki Pepperdine (born 24 July 1961, Roehampton, London, England) is an English comedy actress and writer, active since 1994. Both her parents worked in the NHS in south-west London — an experience that partly inspired her most celebrated project. She studied art history at the University of East Anglia, then worked for Help the Aged and in publishing before enrolling at the East 15 Acting School at age 27. She is best known for co-writing and starring as Dr Pippa Moore in the BBC Four sitcom Getting On (2009–2012, 15 episodes), alongside Jo Brand and Joanna Scanlan, for which she was nominated for two BAFTA TV Awards for Best Writing in a Comedy and a British Comedy Award, and which won two Writers' Guild of Great Britain Awards and a Royal Television Society Award. She also co-wrote and performed in the BBC Radio 4 sketch show The Hudson and Pepperdine Show (2000–2005) with Melanie Hudson, and has had a long-standing comedy collaboration with Julia Davis on Nighty Night (2004), Camping (2016), and Dear Joan and Jericha (2018–2025). Her filmography spans over 28 film and television credits. Notable film credits include Thunderpants (2002, as Reporter, directed by Peter Hewitt), My Cousin Rachel (2017, as Mrs. Pascoe, with Rachel Weisz), Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017, as Betty), Johnny English Strikes Again (2018, as Lydia Bough, with Rowan Atkinson), Poor Things (2023, as Mrs. Prim, with Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo), Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023, as Edna Eaglebauer), and Wuthering Heights (2026, as Sister Mercy). On television she is also known for Anna in the Sky Arts series A Young Doctor's Notebook (2012, 8 episodes), Gwen in Up the Women (2013, 9 episodes), DSI Susan Smart in We Hunt Together (2020, 12 episodes), and Princess Anne in The Windsors (2017, 4 episodes).
