Joe was born and raised in Mochdre, North Wales, the English translation of which forms the name of his production company PIG TOWN. He is a bisexual male filmmaker whose work focuses on themes of queer identity, legacy and home. His career began in front of the camera as an actor for ten years before retraining as a director. As a result, Joe loves casting and working with actors, priding himself on his character work in both writing and directing. He has directed three short films to date. His debut 'SUBS' was nominated and won at multiple BAFTA & BIFA qualifying festivals including Best Student Short at Manchester Film Festival. His previous short HOUSE HUNTERS is BIFA & BAFTA qualifying, winning Best Horror at the Performance Media Insurance competition 2024 and Best Short at Romford Horror. It has been selected for numerous prestigious festivals including BFI Flare, Hollyshorts London, Unrestricted View, Crystal Palace and Catalyst FF.
